Fun fact, I rarely ever do engagement photos for my wedding couples. That’s mostly because they all live so far away, but in the current case, this was something of a short term booking and so I only had one conversation with Katie before her wedding and that was via FaceTime. I looked like an actual monster and she looked like an angel, with her yellow halo shining on her hair from her car’s overhead lamp. We immediately had a heart connection, which (not-so humble brag) happens with most of my brides, which is why I’m still in this industry.
Katie and Jack got married on beautiful Lake Washington outside of Seattle this past summer. They are a shining example of the kind of people I love getting to work with. In cliche Seattle style, it threatened to dump on us with violent rain at any moment for most of the morning but like the laid back dream she is, Katie didn’t lose her shit, which is reason 192 why I love her so much. And the sun did eventually shine just for her.
