Helpenstell’s at Home

Nobody should be as beautiful as Makenzy with a brand new baby and a toddler. Further proof that unfair is the natural state of life. I traveled to Port Angeles to the the Helpenstells’ house for the following photos. Be forewarned- there are a lot. I have no self control.

I poked around their house upon arrival and was immediately drawn to the bathroom. I convinced Mama that the babies needed a bath while we waited for Dad for get home. Some of my favorite photos to date, as I think any mother can relate to the stress/beauty of bathing your children. Some of my most memorable motherhood moments have occurred in our old/shitty pink bathtub and I think it’s important to bring real life elements into a home session because they are are the thread of honesty. Makenzy added her own flare with pizza in bed- something I can honestly say I have not done/ would never be interested in doing with my children. They have all the other rooms to destroy, let me have one square to myself.
