Home// Sierra+Luke// Spokane, WA

Let me start off by saying that in the middle of standing over these two on their bed, snapping away, I looked out of the window to see the neighbor staring into my soul with the most perverted look on his face. This man would NOT look away until I finally pointed my camera at him and took a photo. Unfortunately, it was too blown out for recovery so you’ll just have to take my word for it. So glad I live in the country. I may have started a pet portrait business after this, as I think I got a photo of every animal they own, sans one. The moment I walked into Sierra and Luke’s house, they made me feel so welcome and felt like old friends. Luke I recognized immediately from many hours spent at the Monterey in Cheney with my boys after football practices this past fall. He pointed at me and said “thai sauce”, because I’m a memorable pain in the arse and am always asking for extra/hassling them for the recipe (unsuccessfully so far). Sierra had these amazing little instant photos someone took of them right at the moment he popped the question so you know I took a photo of some photos for that one.  I had an amazing time with these two, they gave me creative freedom and a relaxed afternoon and we even spent some time in the diminishing snow supply of Spokane. We (well not me, but I did in spirit) drank all the tequila and ran around the house like toddlers. Also, if you’ve been following, you know I’m going through a mini movie making phase, and in that spirit, I made them a little black and white Love Film to commemorate their engagement. Check out my time with these two.

Home// Rachel+Mike// Spokane WA

So first of all, I nearly died of happiness when I saw the overalls Rachel put on. And she looked killer in them. I slow clapped in my head when she walked in the room, and thats the truth. Factor in their artfully decorated spaces and the fact that they were willing to feed each other crackers on a whim and we had, in my humble opinion, a perfect morning spent in their sun-soaked rooms. Rachel and Mike are also photographers, which makes for even more camaraderie. I also decided to make another Love Film (check out the first one here), a side passion that has found its way into my “work” life (this isn’t really work) and has become something of a new obsession. I love making movies, as much as I love taking photos. The two go hand in hand for me, and filming people  has only increased my love for this craft. Feel the love.
