Darcy wore a glitter jumpsuit during her reception at The Armory in Portland, Oregon. She was a blazing hiphop champion goddess in sequins and busted several incredible moves continuously over a period of hours and has more energy than any year old Labrador or toddler that I have ever seen in my entire life. She smiles smiles smiles and she makes me smile. I am amazed at this woman and also totally jealous because although I also love to dance, I move all of my body simultaneously and to a rhythm that has nothing to do with whats coming out of the speakers. I dance to my own drum and its not pretty, but it feels right.
I met with Joey first that morning and bird dogged and his fellas down to a local cafe where he opted for bacon and coffee toasts over putting on a suit and tie for his photos. I loved it and got an awesome picture of some dude in shorts rollerblading like a badass in his cute powder pink helmet (which you can see below) and also was hit on (along with the incredible Haley Bateman) by a 72 year old drunk man at a nearby table, multiple times, who kept saying WOW right in my face with his hot breath at 10 am. All of these things combined to make for one of the funnest morning groom stories I’ve had the pleasure to witness.
I am going to say this and I fricken mean it- I LOVE THESE PEOPLE. I love their hearts, I love how passionate they are about the people they care about (they said a unique and personal hello to every single table at their reception- a first experience for me), and they just friggen love and love and love with constant actions for everyone around them. They constantly send me work, they checked on me TOO MUCH throughout the wedding day and they had me served with both the steak and the salmon, which is always going to be the way to my heart.
I am so grateful to you Darcy and Joey, for everything. You are incredible people and you truly deserve every thing good this world can offer you. I have a shit ton of love for you.
