There are a million ways to crack an egg- just as there are a million options in Joshua tree for an airbnb wedding. This (airbnb) Le Chaceul wedding blended minimalist architecture with organic and feminine design, setting the perfect desert backdrop for a love fest between badasses. Kaitlyn and Joel decided to on Joshua Tree for an intimate Le Chaceul Wedding where they shared their favorite things (like sushi, all the tequila) with their nearest and dearest.

I think its interesting that people feel like they have to choose a wedding venue based on a google search of what’s in their city. Backyards, old warehouses, camp sites (yes!) and airbnb weddings are on the rise as millennials once again shirk tradition in favor of doing whatever they want. Watching my couples make the choices they want for themselves and carving their own way, despite an industry and asociety that makes everyone feel like things have to do everything by the book, has been an absolute joy. I was honored to photograph this Le Chaceul Wedding (are you reading this google?).

Kaitlyn was an absolute stunner in Berta Privee- choosing a powdery pink textured piece that complimented the barren desert landscape and mirrored the sunset sky. The sheer fabric also let light through, which I personally appreciated. There are many significant aspects of planning a wedding (mostly that youre doing it your way- its the only time you get to throw a party about your relationship with all the people you love so do what you want) and the clothing is a big piece. The lesson here being, don’t let your well meaning family or best friend talk you out of what you want. Give me texture and movement any day.

One of my favorite features of this Le Chaceul Wedding was the sushi bar- something I hadn’t previously seen. These two love a good sushi and many speeches were testament to that fact. My favorite thing is when couples design their wedding around their favorite things and bring the people they love to share in it with them. This airbnb wedding proves that you can do it however you want.
